An adorable Cuban-American filmmaker named Sebastian arrives in LA, penniless and closeted. He lands a job producing a documentary, but therešs a catch- it's about the love lives of 30-something gay men. Enter Sebastian's "subjects" and "tour guides:" Dante, a club owner with an eating disorder, Michael, a slave to fashion and finance and; and Paulie, whose obsessive list of sex-and-dating rules includes keeping one pant-leg on for the first 3 months. Needless to say, Sebastian doesn't remain the "objective filmmaker" for long, tricking with a beefy trainer in a sports bar john, then flirting with and offending the handsome host of a glamorous Hollywood cocktail party. Writer-director-star Julien Hernandez does a masterful job weaving all these tales together, and with the help of a dynamic cast (including Paul Lekakis, the sexy blond tweaker in last year's Circuit), the result is a zany but heartfelt look at the fear of finding Mr. Right.

A slick, funny, and near perfect gem starring gay indie veteran Craig Chester as a lonely 35-year old and Andersen Gabrych (Edge of Seventeen) as the cute-but-clueless Gen. Y fashion student he's in love with. When a backroom brawl sends them to the hospital, it's a chance to reflect on the romance-that-wasn't, and these two actors create a bond so sweetly tormented that you can feel it. Brian Sloan, the talent behind Pool Days, has once again worked magic.
