The star of last year's smash-hit short, "Evie Harris' Shining Star" is back: Evie Harris (Jack Plotnick), that gutter-mouthed drunk who slept her way through Hollywood but never made it to the top. This time around, the old broad has to share a movie and a split-level ranch with two other drag queens, and she's none too happy about it. Coco (Clinton Leupp) has her advantages - she cooks and cleans and listens to Evie's jokes. But she's always whining about that handsome abortionist she fell in love with in college. Then there's Varla (Jeffery Roberson). Sure, she's the only one who can pay the rent, but she's too perky, too optimistic, and...uh-oh, she's the daughter of another wannabe-star that Evie cheated out of a part in the 70's disaster pic ASTEROID. Before Evie can puke up her first martini of the day, the sparks between these two are flying. When Varla snags a TV ad, Evie's envy of the spotlight spawns a late-night "speciamercial" called "All About Evie." Meanwhile, everybody forgets about poor Coco, maimed in a car wreck, scorched on the barbecue, haunted by recovered memories and slowly filing her toe to a bloody stump. This is Way Beyond the Valley of Dolls. With day-glo sets, hysterical costumes, and a dazzling credit sequence, Girls Will Be Girls is as polished and confident as the Hollywood blockbusters Evie Harris never starred in.

Director Richard Day, Producers Michael Warwick and Richard Ahren, and actors Jack Plotnick (Evie), Clinton Leupp (Coco) and Jeffery Roberson (Varla) will attend the screening.
