Bob's broken up with his boyfriend (but is still strung along by him), he's burned-out on the Manchester club scene (yes, Babylon returns), and can't play by the rules of don't-ask-don't-tell casual sex. Likewise, Rose is bored with her good-natured but oafish beau, fed up with living at home, and over the straight singles world. When these two meet, bonding over a late night taxi and that campy old song Harper Valley PTA, things get weird fast, and they're on their way to either utter disaster or true romance - take your pick. Russell T. Davies, creator of the groundbreaking original British Queer As Folk, brings us a new series that's destined to spark that same combination of laughter, tears and unbridled outrage on this side of the Atlantic. A richly realized set of supporting players rounds out the show. There's Bob's best friend Holly, a scarily off-kilter straight co-worker who wishes it was she Bob was smitten with, and his mom, who is wickedly funny as an over-the-top and over supportive "PFLAG" parent. There's Rose's group of women friends, who are loud and raunchy in that very English way, but ultimately on her side. As Bob's potential - gulp - bisexuality rears its head ("But I'm gay!' he shouts in one uproarious restaurant confrontation), we realize that Davies has created another restrained masterpiece of biting humor and difficult emotional truth that challenges our ideas of what "gay TV" can be. Russell T. Davies will attend the screening and discuss his work with the audience. Stay tuned for more! Don't miss Bob & Rose, Episodes 4-6, tomorrow, Sunday April 28 at 5:00 PM.
